City of Seaside
From over a century ago to today, Seaside is still considered the Northwest's most popular family-oriented ocean resort city. The city's population of just over 7,000 grows exponentially in the summer, especially during some of the large events and festivals that Seaside traditionally hosts. Lewis and Clark history is an honored part of Seaside's colorful history.
The community is well developed with residential buildings, hotels and motels, condos, a downtown retail walking area, and boasts a significant retirement population. With the growth of transportation facilities both national and regional, and a growing, mobile, and travel-oriented population, Seaside has advanced to one of the most accessible cities and most heavily used beaches on the Oregon Coast.
Almost half of all workers in Seaside are employed in retail and services directly related to tourism while several work in support industries. Education, Healthcare and Food make up the balance of the employment.
