

Clatsop County Education
Clatsop Community College is a two-year, public institution serving Clatsop County since 1958. Over 7,000 students receive excellent instruction and training in liberal arts and sciences , continuing education, professional technical fields, developmental education, and general education.
Located in Astoria, Clatsop Community College provides high-quality, low-cost education services to Clatsop County, as well as portions of Columbia County in Oregon, and Pacific and Wahkiakum Counties in Washington. In addition to the facilities on the main campus, the College has a performing arts center, waterfront Marine and Integrated Manufacturing Technology training facilities. Seaside, Gearhart, and Cannon Beach are served by the South County Center in Seaside, conveniently located on Interstate Highway 101.
Clatsop Community College is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. This accreditation assures students that they receive appropriate recognition from prospective employers and other colleges and institutions.

Other Training Partners
provides employers with the following services: processing of, employment applications assessment of applicants’ skills, and training locations. Disadvantage workers and economically displaced workers enrolled in MTC’s programs may be eligible for funded-training programs, and in some case, reimbursable wages. Employees also receive selective pre-employment training and services.

Kindergarten through high school - Public Schools
The Clatsop County Public School System includes five school districts that continually receive ‘Strong’ and ‘Exceptional’ ratings in several categories from the Oregon Department of Education. Oregon ranked #2 in national SAT average scores.
The Seaside School District continues to rate as one of the top achieving school districts in Oregon, and was the largest Oregon school district to meet all of the federal requirements of ‘Adequate Yearly Progress’.
The Astoria School District has a special needs programs focused on providing education on life skills and job placement facilitation to those who a have mental, physical or emotional disability.
These schools are governed and continually monitored by the Oregon School Boards Association whose proactive mission is to improve student achievement through advocacy, leadership and services to our school districts.

This statue of Lewis and Clark is located at the famous Seaside Turn-Around at the West end of Broadway Street, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. It commemorates "The End of the Trail" for the Lewis and Clark westward expedition (1803-1806).
